At last, the rains have come and the Tarsan boats are floating. There are only 9 days left of the brown trout season. Please try and get up and catch a nice brown trout from the boat.

This year’s competition was fished over the last week from Sunday 13th September until Sunday 20th September.
Thirteen members fished the competition with only 4 members weighing in.
On Sunday 13th September, 2 members weighed in with 5 fish each and on Monday 14th September 2 members weighed in with 5 fish each.
From Tuesday 15th September until Friday 18th 6 members tried to fish. The weather conditions of severe wind and rain made it very difficult for members to fish and as a result no members weighed in on these days.
On Saturday 19th September, the weather conditions had improved and allowed 2 members to fish the water all day with no success as the water was very muddy brown and coloured.
On Sunday 20th, the water was still very coloured and 3 members fished all day without touching a fish.
The results are as follows:
First – David Halliday – Best basket – 5 fish for 10 lb 3 oz. Heaviest fish 2 lb 3 oz
Second – Colin Brown – 5 fish for 10 lb 1 oz with the heaviest fish 2 lb 3 oz
Third – Graeme Henry – 5 fish for 9 lb 6 oz with heaviest fish at 2 lb 3 and a half ounces

The Pittman Reservoir Competition runs from Sunday 13th to Sunday 20th September. The Competition is from dawn until weigh-in at 5.00 pm sharp at the Car Park. This is a rainbow trout competition and the catch limit is your first 5 fish. If you catch a brown trout, please put it back as it will not count.

RESERVOIR STOCKED
The Reservoir was stocked this afternoon (Tuesday 1st September) with 209 lovely rainbow trout weighing between 2 lb and 6 lb.
PITTMAN COMPETITION
Please don’t forget the D Pittman Competition which runs from Sunday 13th September until Sunday 20th September with weigh-in at 5.00 pm prompt at the car park.

Some good sport to be had at the Reservior, member C Neil (Burkey) managed 5 fish in under 2 hours fishing.

At last, the cooler weather has arrived and so have the fish! 215 lovely rainbow trout were stocked in the Reservoir today (Thursday).

Member Gary Ramsay was fishing areas of the River Cur very early on the morning of Saturday 11th July and landed a lovely 3 lb sea-trout. He caught another 3 but they slipped off. He also had numerous brownies and they were all caught on the dry fly that Gary tied in photo below. The fly is one that Gary made up with natural cdc feathers for the wing, natural cdc dubbing for the body and peacock tinsel for the rib.

The Reservoir was due to be stocked on Monday 13th July but our fish supplier has advised us that he cannot transport the fish safely due to the hot weather so the stocking will not take place until the middle of next week, weather dependent.

At last, the brown trout have arrived! The Lochan was stocked with 200 lovely brown trout and then we went to Loch Tarsan and stocked it with 300 lovely brown trout.

Joe Docherty caught a nice 1lb sea trout on the fly, nice to see fish in the river early in the season.
