Sunday 18th was a very cold, snowy, windy day and we  attached two boats to the moorings at Loch Tarsan ( one short shaft ) one standard.
The other two boats will go in when repairs to them are completed.
The loch is now ok to fish from the bank as water levels are nearly back to normal.
We are waiting on a delivery date of the brown trout stocking which we hope will happen very soon.
The boats in Loch Loskin should be ready for use from this Sunday.

Water is still too low and mud too deep to get boats onto the moorings at Loch Tarsan as these photos show, taken this morning March 12th. We hope to get an improvement in the situation soon. Members are reminded not to fish alone, due to very deep mud especially in the boat-shed bay.

Help Required at Work Parties

Help is very much required at work parties and also at boats in/out of the water especially up the Reservior and Loch Tarsan. Every year it’s the same people that faithfully come along to help with the work (average age 70+)  The dates for these are listed in the year diary so please try to come along …. it’s your club, look after it !

It’s well over four long months till the salmon and seatrout season kicks off again in Cowal,  so here’s a beautiful photo of Loch Eck just to wet members appetites. Thanks to explorecowal.com for the use of his image.

A good few of the longer standing members of this club will remember Chuck Swisher, he was in the DDAC in the late 80’s when the US Navy was in the town, a very accomplished fly tyer and knowledgeable angler .. he sends this message !
Hello All,
Just wanted to say hello and let you know that I still miss the good times spent fishing with members of the Dunoon And District Angling Club. Thank you for making my time spent in Dunoon 3 of the best years of my time in the navy.  Wishing you all the best for the Holidays and tight lines in the New Year.
Best wishes,
Chuck Swisher
