Planning a fishing trip in Dunoon ? …. Then here’s the place to stay.

Help is very much required at work parties and also at boats in/out of the water especially up the Reservior and Loch Tarsan. Every year it’s the same people that faithfully come along to help with the work (average age 70+) The dates for these are listed in the year diary so please try to come along …. it’s your club, look after it !

Received a nice Thank You card from a guest who attended the recent Annual Dinner at the Argyll Hotel, we thought it would be nice to post it up.

The 2017 Annual Dinner was held in the Argyll Hotel, Dunoon last Saturday (25th) a great evening was had by all, the guest speakers were Arthur French and Jim Thomson, with Jim McSkimming presenting the Macaulay Tankard to an unsuspecting Bill Duff. Good food and great raffle prizes, a thoroughly entertaining evening from start to finish.
The last two trophies were awarded to their recipients at the Annual Dinner which was held at the Argyll Hotel last Saturday evening.
The Jimmy Docherty Rover Challenge Trophy was awarded to Bill Rankin and Allan Miller, for the most club waters fished with fish being caught.
And the Peter Manson Award went to John Pickett for the most fish being caught at Dunoon Reservior
Allan Miller also fished the Reservoir on Friday, he says that despite the harsh weather with heavy rain and added hailstones there are still quality rainbow trout there fort the taking….. so get the thermals on and get up there !

It seems the algae problem has been resolved on the Lake, Allan Miller and Bill Rankin were there on Wednesday. Allan took these two nice fish, with two more being returned, and Bill had three to the net for 10lbs.
