Week cutting commenced on Loch Loskin today using a hired machine from Bellhaven Fishery, Dunbar. It was quite a specialised machine for the purpose, and lets hope it makes a big difference to the huge weed problem that we have on the loch.
All boats are now ready for use in Loch Loskin, thanks to all the members who came along to help.
The Tarsan and Loskin have been stocked today (Monday) with brown trout so everything is ready for action.
Please note : There are still only two boats in Loch Tarsan until the necessary repairs have been carried out, tell John at the paint shop which boat you require, standard or short shaft.
The last two trophies were awarded to their recipients at the Annual Dinner which was held at the Argyll Hotel last Saturday evening.
The Jimmy Docherty Rover Challenge Trophy was awarded to Bill Rankin and Allan Miller, for the most club waters fished with fish being caught.
And the Peter Manson Award went to John Pickett for the most fish being caught at Dunoon Reservior

We have added these new videos to our website, these can also be viewed on the tabs of the relevant water.

A very quiet morning on Loch Loskin, hardly a ripple in sight, but a perfect way to spend a Bank Holiday Monday nevertheless
“Another excellent way to learn more about your waters is to participate in river cleanups or work parties that aim to improve facilities. Besides making new friends you will be helping the club and benefiting from other members experiences. Ultimately though, to get the best from the Club waters, you will have to spend a lot of time not just fishing but walking and looking to find fish.”
Members and visitors are asked to consider the use of “barbless” hooks when fishing Loch Loskin, this greatly reduces stress and needless injury to the fish … Unhooking while fish are still in the water, and the use of knotless landing nets are recommended. Thanks for your attention
The new season got off to a good start on Tuesday, with all boats on Loch Loskin booked, fish were caught in good numbers by all anglers, some taking catches to double figures (that’s numbers not weight ) So what are you all waiting for ? Book a boat and get down there.
Loch Tarsan fished well also, even though it hasn’t been stocked yet, anglers landed several perfect condition overwintered brownies.
Fish are valuable
members are reminded to return fish carefully when using “catch and release”
Help is required for the boats in on 6th March at 10am for Loch Tarsan and also 13th March at 10am for Loch Loskin it would be nice to see some new faces there apart from the usual lads who turn out religiously every time ! The job wont take long, and remember many hands make light work.
