Members and visitors are asked to consider the use of “barbless” hooks when fishing Loch Loskin, this greatly reduces stress and needless injury to the fish … Unhooking while fish are still in the water, and the use of knotless landing nets are recommended. Thanks for your attention
Nice wee brown trout (other two were slightly bigger) taken from Loch Tarsan this weekend, probably around the 12oz mark, just shows that they are there for the taking, but you have to work hard for them … try “black and red” 😉

The new season got off to a good start on Tuesday, with all boats on Loch Loskin booked, fish were caught in good numbers by all anglers, some taking catches to double figures (that’s numbers not weight ) So what are you all waiting for ? Book a boat and get down there.
Loch Tarsan fished well also, even though it hasn’t been stocked yet, anglers landed several perfect condition overwintered brownies.
Fish are valuable
members are reminded to return fish carefully when using “catch and release”

One of the last fly tying evenings of the winter, with President Jake Chambers in full flow, explaining the history and methods used of the pattern to be tied on the evening.
A lovely morning for boats in at Tarsan, even though it was a tad cold, the loch was frozen over at boathouse bay and we had a bit of bother at first freeing the mooring lines from the ice. Nine members turned out to help with the job, a big thanks to them 🙂 … thought maybe a few new faces would have turned out to share the workload, but was not to be ! Hey-ho that’s life
The “Ressie” had its first stocking of the 2016 season today, perfect condition hard fighting Rainbow trout were put in from the 2lb mark upwards, they will provide good sport for those anglers brave enough to venture up and wet a line, good luck guys because the forecasts not to good, snow showers are predicted tomorrow, and a biting wind for the rest of the week.
