Another nice Winter Rainbow at 3lb+ caught earlier in January, this time by member Bill Rankin … well done Bill ! … Just proof of what’s still in the Reservoir so get the thick socks inside the waders and get up there. Still good sport to be had up the Bishops Glen !

A fine pair of excellent quality Winter Rainbows caught up the Reservoir recently by club member Bob Clark, he caught them with a weighted Cats Whisker on a floating line with a long leader.  Just goes to show the fish are in there for the taking …. Well done Bob !

This years winner of the Jimmy Docherty Rover Challenge Trophy is Bill Rankin .. well done Bill !

It would be nice to see more members enter this competition next year, the rivers and lochs are waiting to be explored, and are not fished as often as they should be. Make a point of visiting different waters in the new season, as wild fishing is what it’s all about !

The last sea-trout caught on Loch Eck for 2016 was around the 2lb 4oz mark and safely returned after a quick photo, the lucky angler says there are plenty more left in the loch for next season.

The winner for this year of the Loch Eck Trophy is Keith McKenzie with his 8lb sea-trout, well done Keith ! … The event was rather poorly attended, which is a shame, because fishing for wild trout is what the sport is all about. Maybe next year will get more members fishing, lets hope so 🙂

Plenty fish are getting caught in Loch Eck, this Sea-trout caught by Bill Rankin was about the 1lb 8oz mark and safely returned. Reports of bigger fish jumping, so just goes to show the loch is producing the goods !
