DDAC member Claude Lerevert caught this nice rainbow trout up at the reservoir recently, weight was around the 6lb mark, a cracker of a fish Claude!
John Easdale had an excellent day up at Dunoon Reservoir recently and caught this nice plump rainbow trout, he said “it hit my Kate McLaren like a train” John also emphasised he limits his catch to that which is necessary as his family love fresh trout !
Well done John and thanks for the photographs .. tight lines !

Drove past Loch Tarsan today and this was the water level, a vast difference to March this year, couldn’t get another drop of water in the loch ! No problems with fishing the bank now, still six weeks of the brown trout season left to go ….
get up there and get fishing !

Bob Clark was up the River Ruel today and caught this nice wee sea trout, it’s his first this season and was around the 1lb mark, it took a size 12 stoats tail, the fish was safely returned to the river … well done Bob !

Ronnie Ganley and Lee Lindop were out on Loch Eck on Friday, conditions were bright and very calm, Ronnie caught this nice grilse while trawling lures, it was safely returned to the water to continue its journey, sea trout were also caught on the day.
The annual match with Dunrod Angling Club was today 27th July, Dunrod won the day by 6 fish to 5, a great time was had by all who fished and the rain didn’t dampen their spirits. The Thompson Trophy was donated by a member of the Dunrod Club who was also a member of DDAC (for 67 years) sadly passed away recently, so it was fitting that it went back to them this year.
It was a beautiful day, conditions good but very bright most of the time. 10 members fished, total catch was 19 for 24lb. Best basket was Lee Lindop – 3 for 6lb and largest fish was Mike Ozinski – 2lb 7oz
On Wednesday 3rd July, the “Over 50s” competition was held at Loch Tarsan. Second was Mike Osinski with 3 fish for 3 lb 12 oz with the heaviest fish at 1 lb 2 oz. Third was Davy Landsburgh with 2 fish for 1 lb 12 oz. All 7 members who fished had a thoroughly enjoyable day.
