Member Bob Clark had a good start to the season this week with these two respectable rainbow trout, just goes to prove there is still good sport to be had even at this time of year … well done Bob 👏
Graeme Henry found these photos on his phone taken up Dunoon Reservoir in August 2020. The two hefty rainbows are 6lb 4oz and 6lb 8oz. A nice warm day by the looks of it, accompanied by his dad Tom. These days will soon return, we hope ! … Thanks for sharing Graeme 👍
We are looking at the ususal Menteith (June ?) followed by Harelaw fishery, Neilston (September ?) Harelaw is a top of the water fishery, mostly, the deepest part is the dam at aprox.12ft. No dates have been fixed yet !
We are looking for an early response from members for these outings so we can get an idea of boat bookings numbers. This is not a deposit booking but a heads up on members that might want to go.

Two sea trout from Loch Eck today, weighed in from trout chart at 22 inches, weight 4lbs 8 ozs, the other sea trout was 10 inches weighing 8ozs, both returned safely ! … Bill Rankin.
Fished the Ruel yesterday afternoon, had about a dozen wee Brown Trout and 6 Sea Trout, although not the biggest these were the best of the bunch. All fish were safely returned …. Graeme Henry.
Not the biggest, but caught these on Saturday on the Ruel and a 3rd that leapt back into the water before its picture could be taken. The fish not pictured was about 2lbs, but couldn’t determine what it was. Thought it was a Brownie, are there Browns of this size in the Ruel, can anyone confirm. The river was running just nice.
