Reservoir

Some nice catches weighed in so far in the Pittman Competition, Peter Manson (above) weighed in with 13lb 11oz on the second day, got a feeling that score will be hard to beat … good work Peter 🙂
The Pittman Competition starts this Sunday (18th) and finishes the following Sunday (25th)
Get down to the paint shop and purchase your permit and choose your day
It has been noted that there is a big shortage of “Catch Returns” from members and visitors after fishing the Reservoir.
These slips are important, we need these figures to calculate the numbers of fish left in the water so we can adjust stocking numbers accordingly !
There is a post box for permit slips at the car park area, or if it suits better handed into Campbells Paint Shop in Argyll St. So if anyone has slips still that are in the pocket of their jacket or lying around the house please hand them in, or if its too far to travel please email the details of catch and stub number on the permit to .. dunoonangling@gmail.com.

“Another excellent way to learn more about your waters is to participate in river cleanups or work parties that aim to improve facilities. Besides making new friends you will be helping the club and benefiting from other members experiences. Ultimately though, to get the best from the Club waters, you will have to spend a lot of time not just fishing but walking and looking to find fish.”
The “Ressie” had its first stocking of the 2016 season today, perfect condition hard fighting Rainbow trout were put in from the 2lb mark upwards, they will provide good sport for those anglers brave enough to venture up and wet a line, good luck guys because the forecasts not to good, snow showers are predicted tomorrow, and a biting wind for the rest of the week.
The result for the “Jimmy Docherty Rover Challenge Trophy” is shared this year between Bill Rankin and Paul McLean, well done guys ! The trophy was donated by Joe Docherty in memory of his father Jimmy, a member of this club in the early years.
Winner of the largest fish at the Reservoir was John Pickett Sr with 1lb 15oz, in second place Jake Chambers with 1lb 12oz
