A lovely morning for boats in at Tarsan, even though it was a tad cold, the loch was frozen over at boathouse bay and we had a bit of bother at first freeing the mooring lines from the ice. Nine members turned out to help with the job, a big thanks to them 🙂 … thought maybe a few new faces would have turned out to share the workload, but was not to be ! Hey-ho that’s life 
DDAC member Terry Markwick landed this nice full finned 4lb’er this week, nice fish to start the season … well done Terry !
The “Ressie” had its first stocking of the 2016 season today, perfect condition hard fighting Rainbow trout were put in from the 2lb mark upwards, they will provide good sport for those anglers brave enough to venture up and wet a line, good luck guys because the forecasts not to good, snow showers are predicted tomorrow, and a biting wind for the rest of the week.
Members are reminded that from now on, when booking a boat for either Loch Tarsan or Loch Eck, you must specify which type of boat you require, either long shaft or short shaft ! This saves disappointment when arriving at the water and your boat is being used by others.

Help is required for the boats in on 6th March at 10am for Loch Tarsan and also 13th March at 10am for Loch Loskin it would be nice to see some new faces there apart from the usual lads who turn out religiously every time ! The job wont take long, and remember many hands make light work.

Conservation limits for Atlantic Salmon
Members please note that NO salmon may be killed on our waters after 1st April 2016. Mandatory catch and release (all methods) is required.
This is specified in the Government policy for Grade 3 rivers as detailed in
“The Application of Conservation Limits for Atlantic Salmon”(17 December 2015) and “The update on the package of conservation measures” (9th January 2016)
