The third round of the Mackenzie Trophy was held today at Loch Tarsan and it was very poorly attended with only three members fishing and all three weighed in at the boathouse at 6pm.
Top rod on the day was Lee Lindop with 10 fish for 8lbs 5.5oz second was Allan Miller with 4 fish for 3lbs 5.3oz is and in third place was David Halliday with 1 fish for 15ozs, well done to all who took part in a very wet and cold day, but we really need more members to take part.
DDAC narrowly missed out on a semi final place at the Scottish Club Championships at the Lake of Menteith on Saturday 18th finishing in 4th place. Lee Lindop landed 12 fish for 23lb 5.6oz, Allan Miller landed 3 fish for 6lb 0.1oz and Ronnie Ganley landed 3 fish for 5lb 12.8oz, And Lee with his 12 fish qualified for the Champion of Champions final. Very well done to Lee, Allan and Ronnie.
Residents are reporting on Facebook about an algal bloom on Dunoon Reservoir, it appears to be nothing more sinister than POLLEN ! …. So the water is safe to fish. Tight lines everyone 😉
Water level is still depressingly low on the loch as the video shows. So please take care when bank fishing as the mud is still soft and dangerous.
The 1st Tarsan competition is on this Saturday as scheduled, but members must take care when walking the banks and especially when wading, as the silt is soft and holds hidden pockets that you can sink up to the knees. Start at 12 noon at the boat house.
