The 1st Tarsan competition is on this Saturday as scheduled, but members must take care when walking the banks and especially when wading, as the silt is soft and holds hidden pockets that you can sink up to the knees. Start at 12 noon at the boat house.
Dear Members. The Tarsan will not be stocked this coming week as the water is extremely low and as you can see the boats are high and dry in the mud. If fishing from the bank, please be extremely careful as the banks are very muddy and soft. This may affect the 1st Tarsan Competition, will let members know nearer the time.
President Davy
Simon Mullins braved the snow and wind on Saturday and took a boat out on Loch Loskin, he said conditions were difficult but managed to land this one before the end. It looks remarkably like a seatrout, maybe somebody will prove us wrong ? 😉

Boats have now been put in at Loch Tarsan ready for the start of the 2019 season as the water level is back to normal. Only three boats are available just now as one is still getting repaired. A big thanks to all who came up to lend a hand at a very wet and blustery loch yesterday.

The boats are still not in at Tarsan as yet, Andy Lancaster was unable to put moorings out due to the low water level and the mud, also the loch has not been stocked yet for the same reason. Loch Loskin has had walkways at shed fixed with new timbers and has been stocked with quality brownies all ready for the 15th. We will post up news on the situation at Tarsan when we know the details. Thanks for your patience.
The weed on Loch Loskin has been cut back while the water was at its current low level, the hired machine took the weed as low as possible before the first stocking and start of the brown trout season on 15th March. The club has put a lot of effort into the “Lochan” lately, with new boats, weed cutting and maintenance to the shed, with the external walkways in the process of being repaired with new timbers, so hopefully this will encourage members and visitors to fish this water as visits have been poor the last couple of years. There is excellent sport to be had here … providing you go and fish it !
Catch and Release …. an interesting article, give it a wee read !
