A nice plump brownie taken from Loch Tarsan today by Bill Rankin.
Alan Millar, my boat partner, also caught large trout.
We both agreed this one was the biggest of the season, there must be more in there.

A big thanks to the person who found my lanyard with forceps and line nippers attached. I found them tied to the gate at Loch Tarsan this afternoon . Thank you … Bob Clark

Loch Tarsan. Competition. No. 2
The second Tarsan Competition of 2024 saw some very good bags returned. All 5 anglers who took part weighed in fish at the end of a decent day on the Loch, three of whom had catch limits of 5 fish each. Warmer air temperatures, overcast skies and a light breeze presented very reasonable conditions for Loch Tarsan, although the water level is beginning to drop and expose the mud again. Once again Bill Rankin edged it for his second successive competition win. Alan Miller and Graeme Henry were second and third respectively, with only an ounce between them. Keith MacKenzie had 4 decent trout, while yours truly managed a brace. Biggest fish of the day went to Bill also with a 1lbs 3.9 oz specimen.
1.Bill Rankin. 5 fish. 5lbs 3.4 oz
2. Alan Miller. 5fish. 4lbs 14 oz
3. Graeme Henry. 5 fish. 4lbs 12.8 oz
4. Keith MacKenzie. 4 fish. 3lbs 14.6 oz
5. Duncan F. MacGillivray. 2 fish. 1lbs 14.3 oz
All in all, it was an enjoyable day that saw the race for the Club Championship gather a bit of pace. It promises to be a keenly contested season. Well done to all who participated. Next up at Tarsan is the Moth Competition on the evening of Friday 14th June followed by Competition No. 3 on Saturday 22nd June. Hope to see you there!
D.F. MacGillivray,
Tarsan Convener.

The AGM was held on Tuesday 6th February at the Argyll Hotel and was attended better than last year with a turn-out of 30 members.
Members approved 2 proposals on the night – firstly membership subscriptions increase by £10 and reduction of catch limit from 3 to 2 fish on the Reservoir, Loch Tarsan and Loch Loskin. All competitions would remain as first 5 fish. The Committee was re-elected en-bloc for another year.
After the business of the meeting, presentation of prizes was held with Graeme Henry being Club Champion.
Thanks to all who attended.
Best
Davy, President
