The winner for this year of the Loch Eck Trophy is Keith McKenzie with his 8lb sea-trout, well done Keith ! … The event was rather poorly attended, which is a shame, because fishing for wild trout is what the sport is all about. Maybe next year will get more members fishing, lets hope so 🙂
Competitions

Some decent sea trout are getting caught on Loch Eck, the one pictured above was caught on the fly last week (and safely returned), the weather is similar to last year for the competition, no rainfall forecast and bright sunshine too, not an ideal combination but fish are getting caught on the loch, so get out there and get fishing !

Some nice catches weighed in so far in the Pittman Competition, Peter Manson (above) weighed in with 13lb 11oz on the second day, got a feeling that score will be hard to beat … good work Peter 🙂
The winner of the Outings Trophy for this year was Bill Rankin, who also caught the heaviest fish. Well done Bill 🙂
The Pittman Competition starts this Sunday (18th) and finishes the following Sunday (25th)

“Thomson Trophy back in Dunoon!
DDAC and Dunrod had some very enjoyable and challenging fishing today.
Despite strong winds and some rain, teams from both clubs competed
for wild brownies from Dunrod waters high on the hills above Gourock.
This friendly rivalry helps cement the close ties between our two clubs.
Our Dunoon team were comfortable winners and will hold the Thomson Cup
until next year, when we’ll compete all over again.”
A very windy day and hard conditions for all.
Sixteen members fished with only seven catching fish.
Lee Lindop won with 7lb 2oz, second was Bill Rankin with 7lb, third was Keith MacKenzie with 6lb 4oz, and fourth was Jake Chambers with 6lb.
Bill Rankin had the heaviest fish at 2lb 8oz.
The Inn at Muckhart was an excellent choice yet again with superb food !
Five members weighed in and Jake Chambers was the winner.
Jake Chambers 10 fish, 7lb 15.3oz
Hamish McInnes 9 7lb 9.8oz
Davy Landsburgh 8 6lb 9.2oz
