This Saturday (8th April) is the first day of the Tarsan Competition. Bank fishing only, it starts at 12 noon, with the weigh-in at the boathouse at 6pm. Forecast seems very nice, all members are welcome. Please come along and give the usual attenders something to think about, as the number of competitors has been dwindling in recent years.

Loch Tarsan produced this beautiful plump brownie last Saturday, caught by club member Allan Miller with a CDC pattern, its weight was around 2lb. Well done Allan.

Local angler and a long standing DDAC member Bob Clark landed this 22lb Spring Salmon during an outing to the Mighty River Dee, taken on a Willie Gunn tube. Well done Bob !
Windy and cold up Loch Tarsan today (14th) if conditions prevail it will prove a difficult first day of the 2017 season tomorrow for the keen anglers who venture out.

One of our members is wanting to purchase a long shaft outboard engine, up to 4hp max, either 2/stroke or 4/stroke. If anyone has got one for sale please send an email to dunoonangling@gmail.com … Thanks.

A small printing error has been made on the new 2017 membership card, the “valid to” date should read “28 February 2018”

Another nice Winter Rainbow at 3lb+ caught earlier in January, this time by member Bill Rankin … well done Bill ! … Just proof of what’s still in the Reservoir so get the thick socks inside the waders and get up there. Still good sport to be had up the Bishops Glen !

A fine pair of excellent quality Winter Rainbows caught up the Reservoir recently by club member Bob Clark, he caught them with a weighted Cats Whisker on a floating line with a long leader. Just goes to show the fish are in there for the taking …. Well done Bob !
