Tarsan Moth Competition 17th June

A fresh North Westerly ensured that this competition didn’t see the warm temperatures and
evening rise that was hoped for. Despite the bleak conditions half a dozen stalwarts attended
and by kick off were well distributed around the Loch, attempting to find a position from where
they could cast a line. There were fish about particularly near the burn mouths but it was heavy
going. Alas the expected reduction in wind didn’t really happen and as the light faded the Loch
retained it’s rough conditions.
A total of four members returned fish to be weighed in.

1. Lee Lindop 9 fish for 9lbs 14.7 oz
2. Duncan MacGillivray 2 fish for 3lbs 3.4 oz
3. Colin Brown 1 fish for 14.5oz
4. Ron Ganley 1 fish for 6.2 oz
   Well done to all members who made an appearance on a difficult evening for fishing and once again
   to Lee for his winning bag.
   The next event at Loch Tarsan is Heat 3 of the MacKenzie Competition and takes place this coming
   Saturday 25 th June from 12 till 6 pm. Hopefully we will have better conditions and another good
   turnout of members.

Well done to all who fished the most recent Tarsan Competition! It was a decent day that started
with near perfect conditions- dull with a westerly wind. As the day wore on the wind dropped and
became more variable accompanied with periods of bright sunshine. Several intrepid ( and fit!)
anglers fished the top of the dog leg with this area providing the best sport on the day. All in all an
enjoyable day for anglers with a reasonable turn out. Well done to the two top bags returned by Lee
and Graeme. They covered a lot of ground and got the rewards for their endeavours. Hope to see
you all at the next Heat on 25 th of June and don’t forget the evening Moth Competition on the 17 th of
June.

Graeme Henry sent this in, he said ….. “4 of my 8 fish that I caught during the 1st Tarsan Comp. I caught them on the one cast. Couldn’t believe it. 1st time in nearly 40 years fishing and I doubt I’ll do it again”
