The Pittman Competition ran from Sunday 17th September until Sunday 24th September.
Seventeen members fished the competition over a terrible week of wind and rain. On Sunday 17th September, 3 members weighed in with 5 fish each.
On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, no members weighed in due to high winds and heavy rain. On Friday 22nd September, 5 members fished from 7.30 am until the weigh-in at 5.00 pm at the car park. None of the members had touched a fish.
Two skilled members fished the Reservoir on Saturday from dawn until 3.00 pm and did not touch a fish.
No members weighed in on Sunday 24th due to high winds and rain again.
The results are as follows:
1st – David Halliday – 5 fish for total weight 10 lb 6 oz
2nd – Gordon Cardy – 5 fish for total weight 9 lb 14 oz
3rd – Ron Ganley – 5 fish for total weight 9 lb 12 oz
Heaviest fish – David Halliday – 2 lb 10 oz
Therefore David Halliday wins the Pittman Competition and also has the heaviest fish. Well done David!
